-1c and they were diving and surveying the bed of the Menai Straits for the Marine Source Heat Pump…dedication!
Yesterday it was Snowdon and the hydro. Early this morning it was the Menai Straits and divers surveying the ecology of the Menai Straits to asses the working area for the possible Marine Source Heat Pump. The Menai is an SSSi and one of the features is a cold water reef is in front of the Mansion. We have contacted the survey divers in order to find out exactly where the reef is which will allow us to design the system to avoid anything which they identify under the water. Its -1c and the water was a bit warmer ( almost 5 degrees warmer) than that and we had four intrepid divers surveying the sea bed in the early sunlight. Not for me but thankfully there are some highly skilled divers based a couple of miles away able and willing to do the work…but it was a stunning morning!

This is what it’s all about. Aiming to heat this place with the heat from the sea. Plas Newydd early in the morning light
